About ATR Training

Keith has always loved to learn, and to teach and share knowledge.  He is a student first, and instructor, second.  Early training centered around Dave Spaulding of Handgun Combatives, and Massad Ayoob of MAG. Soon thereafter joined the family of Rangemaster Certified Instructors, and has obtained all of the Rangemaster Intructor Certifications. NRA certifications include Advanced Pistol Instructor, and Range Safety Officer.  Additional partial list of training includes Gunsite Academy, Sig Sauer Academy, Shivworks, Modern Samurai Project, The Complete Combatant, Defense Training International, The Rogers Shooting School, Thunder Ranch, FPF Training, Symtac Consulting, 360 Performance, Langdon Tactical, and more. 

ATR Training (originally A Triggered Response) was founded to be able to bring back the many lessons learned training with the highest level national instructors and schools to the local area of Hickory/Conover, NC, and share them with our local citizens.  For over 12 years, we have taught NC Concealed Carry, and multiple different Protection Pistol class curriculums.  In the recent years we have added Protection Shotgun classes, as well as OC spray training as well.  

Keith, Brian, Jennifer, Thomas, Larry, and our other ATR staff love to work with all levels of shooters and responsible citizens, from brand-new shooters on up.   We even have ladies-only classes available.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Refunds are not available for ATR classes unless ATR must cancel the class for some reason.
Classes will be run rain or shine, unless the weather conditions are deemed unsafe.
If class cannot be run due to inedquate number of registered students 14 days prior to class, it may be cancelled.
There may be other potetntial reasonse, but we will make all efforts to accomodate registered students.
If desired, a full refunds will issue a refund via paypal or venmo.  Shootingclasses.com does not have a refund capabililty.
Students can also apply thier registration toward any upcoming similar class for which they are qualified, or may also "bank" the class credit for up to 2 years pending further schedule announcment.  

Reschedule Policy

If classes are not run on the date originally scheduled, they will generally be considered to be cancelled.
If we can offer another date immediately, registered students will have the option to keep thier spot.
If students would like to remain on "the list" for first refusal of the next offering for that class, they will have preference for the next class.

Refund Policy

No Refunds or Reschduling.
Each class demands a large amount of time and effort that goes far beyond the classtime itself.  It is our commitment to run the classes for our registered students, therefore we ask commitment from you as well at the time of registration.

If you are unable to get to the class and date for which you registered, our policies do not allow a reschedule.
On rare occasions of exigent circumstances, in which we have an upcoming similar class with available seats that you are qualified to take, we MAY reach out to accomodate you in one of those classes, but this will be rare and should not be expected.

RELEASE, WAIVER, INDEMNIFICATION, HOLD HARMLESS, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT WHEREAS, in consideration of being permitted to attend a course for instruction in firearms, for the instruction in firearms, for use of premises, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, Undersigned agrees to the following:                                                                                              Init:_________

Harper (hereinafter referred to as “Instructor”), and ATR TRAINING from any and all fault, liabilities, costs, expenses, claims, demands or lawsuits arising out of related to or connected with: Undersigned’s presence at and/or participation in the course of instruction; the discharge of firearms by Undersigned; Undersigned’s presence on or use of range, buildings, and premises (‘Premises‘); and, any and all acts or omissions of Undersigned.                                        Init:_________

    Undersigned furthermore waives for himself/herself and for his/her executors, personal representatives, administrators, assignees, heirs and next of kin, any and all rights and claims for damages, losses, demands and any other actions or claims whatsoever, which he/she may have or which may arise against Instructor (including but not limited to the death of Undersigned and/or any and all injuries, damages or illnesses suffered by Undersigned  or Undersigned’s property), which may, in any way whatsoever, arise out of, be related to or be connected with the course of instruction; the Premises, including any latent defect  in the Premises; Undersigned’s Presence on or use of said Premises; Undersigned’s property (whether or not entrusted of Instructor); and the  discharge of firearms.
