"Poor Man's Pistol" basic handgun class

Description

Do you want to get your concealed carry permit but have never fired a gun? Are you thinking about getting a handgun, but they make you nervous? Do you want to improve your skills, but don't want to spend a fortune on ammo? Then this is the class for you!

With the out of control cost of ammo today, this course is designed for prospective and first-time gun owners on a budget. A basic pistol course like this can easily run through 400-500 rounds of ammo. At today's prices that could cost more than the gun! I use airsoft pistols and a virtual range to teach the basics of handling and marksmanship in a safe, non-intimidating way. If you’re nervous about guns you can ease your way into gun ownership and lifelong training. You will learn the basic skills needed to confidently and safely handle a live firearm. I'll also show you some basic practice drills you can do at home. At the end of the class we go to the range and shoot the real thing, without your nerves getting in the way. This class also includes my multi-state concealed carry class for free!

And, the best part is, you have lots of practice time and unlimited airsoft ammo! You will still need a real firearm and ammo for the live fire part of the class. You will need to bring your own as there are no rentals available at the range. If you’re a first-time handgun owner this is the class for you.

Expectations and Outcomes

By the end of the course the student will understand the basic safety, operation and maintenance of handguns as well as a training plan to develop their skills more fully outside of the class.

The student will be required to pass a live fire range test in order to qualify for their certificate to obtain a concealed carry permit. The student will qualify for Ohio, Michigan, Florida and West Virginia concealed carry permits.

Documentation Requirements

Students will need their driver's license for class. 

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

Requirements

Students will need to provide their own firearm and at least 100 rounds of ammunition for the range part of the class. Extra ammunition is suggested. Student will need eye protection, ear protection, a brimmed hat (like a ball cap or boonie hat), a shirt with a snug collar like a t-shirt. No low neckline shirts.
