Description

This six-hour outdoor dynamic pistol training class is designed to advance the development of women shooters who already possess basic pistol skills. You'll run courses of fire designed to develop and refine core gun handling and shooting fundamentals. Working from 5 to 25 yards, you’ll be introduced to dynamic target transitions and movement drills under time constraints.

What's covered:

  • Safety brief and review of gun safety rules. Assessment and refinement of gun handling skills including ready positions, draw stroke, loading, unloading, tactical and emergency reloads and clearing malfunctions.
  • You’ll hone core fundamentals including stance, grip and vision. You’ll begin to build consistency and repeatability into your shooting technique while being pushed to shoot with urgency, from distances of 5 to 25 yds.
  • For defensive utility, you’ll be introduced to more dynamic pistol shooting with multiple target transitions and movement drills on a timer. You’ll also work at more challenging distances beyond 15 yds on a Mini A-DAP steel target.

Requirements

  • You must have your own semi-auto pistol to attend class. This class is NOT for beginners. You must have an understanding of the basics.
  • You must have a holster, either AIWIB or OWB — preferably Kydex molded to the specific make and model of your gun and a proper gun belt to support your holster.
  • You'll need ear and eye protection.
  • You will need 500 rounds of ammunition. Contact me if you would like recommendations for where you can purchase ammunition at the lowest cost.
  • Bring a speed loader (I recommend Uplula).
  • Bring a baseball cap and sun screen.
  • Bring plenty of water and some snacks. Bring lunch. We take a short 15 minute break. I recommend eating light on the range.
