Description
Severe traumatic injuries result from forces as everyday as a serious fall or automobile accident, to forces as unthinkable as a shooting or stabbing as the result of an assault or robbery. This lesson will address the assessment and treatment for a number of trauma emergencies including severe bleeding, a penetrating chest injury, flail chest, severe burns, musculoskeletal trauma (injury to the bones, muscles, ligaments or tendons) and trauma to the head and eye.
Topics Covered
Are you prepared to provide yourself lifesaving first aid? This course is about applying first aid to yourself and others around you in a critical incident where time is life or death. This course takes you through patient assessment, using MARCH and ABC/CBA's, and traumatic emergencies including Stop the Bleed and using tourniquets, blood clotting bandages, and chest seals. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a CAT 7 tourniquet and a USCCA Emergency First Aid Certificate.
Expectations and Outcomes
You will be confident in saving lives using tourniquets, hemostatic bandages, gauzes, and applying CPR and using an AED. This is a practical course and you will use all the first aid devices on yourself and training partner. This course you will recieve a USCCA First Aid Fundamental certificate at completion.

Requirements
Wear clothes that you can get on the floor and may have training blood on them. Training blood does wash off, vinagar and red dye.
