FIGHTING HANDGUN 1 is a moderate paced, intermediate-level course that includes; 1 full day of live-fire training based on the tactical and cognitive application of the pistol. Students must arrive to class safe and proficient with their duty handgun.
Topics Covered:
Tactical Fundamentals, Workspace, Unconventional Shooting Positions, Optimizing Cover, Deliberate and Dynamic Movement, Threat Assessment & Discrimination / Step-by-Step Processing on Steel & Paper and Fighting from Contact and CQB Distances.
Pre-requisites: Defensive Handgun 1 or equivalent, NYS Armed Guard Training or Authority of Office.
Required Gear: Gun Belt and Holster, Magazine Pouches, Duty Pistol 9mm or larger, Inert Blue Gun, 300 Rounds of Factory Ammunition (minimum), Eye and Ear Protection.
