Concealed Carry Class

1. What do I need to bring to the concealed carry class?

You should bring a valid ID, a notepad and pen for notes.

2. Do I need prior firearm experience to take this class?

No prior experience is required. This class is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced shooters.

3. Will I have to pass a test to get my concealed carry certificate?

Yes, a live-fire shooting qualification to ensure you understand firearm laws and safety.

4. What happens if I fail the shooting qualification?

If you don’t pass on the first attempt, instructors will work with you to improve your skills. you may be allowed to retake the qualification at a later date.

5. How long is the class?

Most concealed carry classes last between 6 to 8 hours, including classroom instruction and range time.

6. Will I receive my concealed carry permit after completing this class?

No, but you will receive a certificate of completion, which you can use to apply for your concealed carry permit through your state’s licensing authority.

7. What topics are covered in the class?

The course covers firearm safety, legal aspects of concealed carry, situational awareness, marksmanship fundamentals, and state-specific laws.

8. Can I bring my own gun and ammo to the range?

Yes, but it must meet safety guidelines, and all firearms must be unloaded upon arrival. If you do not have a firearm, a firearm will be provided with ammo.

This course will train you and give you completion document to then apply for your security license. Some states require security officers to complete training before applying for a license, while others allow training after getting hired by a security company.

2. What are the requirements to enroll in a security class?

Students must typically be at least 18 years old (21 for armed security), have a valid ID, and pass a background check. Some states may have additional requirements.

3. How long is the security training class?

Unarmed security training is typically 8 to 16 hours, while armed security training can be 24 to 40+ hours, depending on state laws.

4. What’s the difference between armed and unarmed security training?

• Unarmed security training covers legal aspects, conflict resolution, emergency response, and basic self-defense techniques.

• Armed security training includes firearm handling, marksmanship, legal considerations, and defensive tactics.

5. Do I need my own firearm for the armed security class?

Not necessarily. Some training facilities provide rental firearms, but students may use their own if it meets course and legal requirements.

6. Will this training certify me to carry a firearm as a security officer?

The training provides the required certification, but you must apply for a security guard firearm license through your state regulatory agency before carrying a weapon on duty.

7. What happens if I fail the qualification test?
