Today we live in a world where terrorism, the actions of unstable people, and the dangerous impulses of friends and relatives are very real and becoming increasingly more frequent. In many of these situations today, stopping the threat or dealing with the aftermath of massive bleeding and life-threatening wounds in a timely manner is key. Anyone can be an immediate responder if they know what to do. Join us on May 18th, we have some great things planned, awesome guest, and sponsors. It will be as simple as ABC!
Topics Covered
THE EDC GUY ACADEMY ENTRY LEVEL DEFENSIVE PISTOL COURSE, taught by Ronald Sippio, is designed to give beginners the necessary mindset and tools to stop the threat. This course will allow the student to develop proper techniques drawing from the holster, proper stance, proper grip, shot placement, shooting under duress using various drills related to real-world scenarios and much much more. This course will be held at an outdoor range and will address the student concern on how to engage the threat. If you are looking to take your training to the next level and a course that will help build your confidence this is the one for you.
The PREVENTING PREVENTABLE DEATHS module of the course, taught by Dr. Marco R. Torres, will focus on the identification and management of the 3 most common causes of preventable death: Massive Extremity Hemorrhage, Airway Issues, and Tension Pneumothorax. This portion follows the military's Tactical Combat Casualty Care philosophy presented in a way easily understood by anyone with little to no medical training. This portion will be taught by a physician, who is also a paramedic and medical school educator, who has conducted tactical medicine training for a myriad of audiences both in the US and abroad. This portion far exceeds the typical "Stop The Bleed" courses being taught at hospitals or fire stations by instructors with a limited knowledge base.
Expectations and Outcomes
The student will have an increased awareness and appreciation of firearms fundamentals and will be exposed to effective and simple to remember medical procedures that can be used to address traumatic injuries and potentially help save a life.
Students will receive 2 certificates, one for each the Pistol and Medical portions of the course.
Types
Advanced, Basic, Intermediate, Active Shooter Response Training, Concealed Carry Training, In Home Defense Training, Scenario Based Training, Tactical Casualty Care (TCCC / TECC)
