Description

This 16-hour (2-Day) course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting Course. This course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training, and Pistol Specific Instructor Training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification exam. Students will receive NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course student packet.

Students will receive their NRA Instructor Certification.
PLEASE NOTE: Certs are issued by the NRA training department, therefore there is also additional certification and processing fees payable to the NRA.

Successful completion of student NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course (Instructor Led Training) is a perquisite for certification as an NRA Pistol Instructor. Prior to the Instructor Training, candidates complete a pre-course qualification to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and attitude in safety, loading, unloading, and clearing firearm malfunctions. Candidates must also demonstrate their handgun shooting proficiency by shooting 16 out of 20 shots within a 6 inch circle at 45 feet. Students may use their own gun.
