About SVA Gun Training

Sabine Valley Arms is a firearms education and training company. Our goal is to create safe, competent and confident concealed carriers. Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where anyone can learn more about the benefits of the uniquely American right to keep and bear arms, no matter if they are just starting to explore the idea owning a firearm or are an experienced gun owner.

Our Instructors are NRA-certified and licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety as Texas License to Carry Instructors. 

We specialize in classes for women while also offering classes for everyone. Our Training Director, Claudia McCue, has two decades of teaching and training experience in various fields and a unique perspective on what it's like to learn to shoot as an adult female. Ms. McCue has accumulated more than 350 hours of defensive firearms training in pistol and rifle from a wide variety of top-tier trainers. She has passed formal firearm qualifications including the Georgia Standard Qualification Course (for law enforcement) at 89.3%, the FBI Pistol Qualification Course at 93.3%, and the Rangemaster Short Skills Course at 84%. 

We recognize that the very idea of firearms can be intimidating for some, and we offer a unique, non-ballistic simulation studio where anyone can begin their learning journey without fear, loud bangs, or lead residue. It's the perfect environment for anyone who is curious but too anxious to start out at a live-fire range. Only when ready do students move to live-fire.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Student Cancellations - A $15 Cancellation Fee applies to all student cancellations regardless of reason. This fee covers non-refundable processing fees incurred by Sabine Valley Arms during the student registration process. Cancellation Refunds will be equal to the total amount charged less $15. Students are encouraged to Reschedule rather than Cancel their attendance.

Instructor Cancellations - In the event an instructor is forced to cancel a class students will receive a 100% refund. There is no fee or penalty associated with an Instructor Cancellation.

Reschedule Policy

Students may request to reschedule a class up to 24 hours before the class begins. There is no fee for rescheduling. 

Refund Policy

We guarantee your satisfaction with our classes. If you are dissatisfied for any reason we will refund 100% of your class tuition. Tuition excludes any amounts paid for Firearm Rental+Ammunition packages, Range Fees, and/or Merchandise purchased for use in the class.

Cognovis Group LLC dba Sabine Valley Arms welcomes all students regardless of physical ability. If the Student is legally qualified to take the course and, in the sole judgment of Instructor(s), physically capable of safely and securely operating a firearm, Sabine Valley Arms will make a good faith effort to accommodate the Student.

Student accommodation is at the sole discretion of Instructor(s) and Sabine Valley Arms, and is based on the Instructor's assessment of the Student's ability to participate safely. The decision of the Instructor is final. 

Waiver

You will be required to complete and sign a printed Waiver Form at the beginning of class. All students must complete and sign the Waiver as a condition of participating in class. The text below is for your reference, but in no way substitutes for completing and signing the printed Waiver at the beginning of class.

If an issue is not corrected Instructor(s) may, at their sole discretion, stop my further participation. The Instructor’s decision is final.

7. Pictures and video are recorded during class for diagnostic, liability and promotional purposes. Students may choose to have their facial features obscured - blurred, blocked, cropped, etc. - in any material used for promotional purposes.

8. I specifically release and hold harmless the East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club owner(s)/operator(s), all individuals participating in the event/class instruction, and the Officers and Directors of the shooting range from any and all claims or liability related to these events/classes.
