Description
This course will be taught from the historical perspective of Jeff Cooper's book: The Art of the Rifle. Various rifle positions will be demostrated and practiced with dry firing excercises proceeded with live fire drills on the range. Classroom discussions will include mindset, safety, marksmanship techniques (breath control, grip, using both eyes while firing) and maintenence.

BASIC RIFLE SAFETY
PROPER RIFLE POSITIONS AND TECHNIQUES (STANDING, SITTING , KNEELING, PRONE)
MINDSET REQUIRED TO SURVIVE WHEN HUNTING OR IN A PERSONAL DEFENSE SITUATION
RIFLE BARREL CLEANING AND BREAK IN PROCEDURES
Expectations and Outcomes
Students will have a better understanding of his or her rifle and their personal skill limitations. They will also be able to improve their markmanship skills using the techniques taught in the course, thereby improving their confidence for sucess and surviving.

Requirements
Semi auto or bolt action rifle with any of the following: iron sights, red dot, and or scope.
Must have Rhodesian or Ching sling for rifle...see Andy's Leather.com for example and or purchase.
100 rounds of ammo for the rifle. (bipods and suppressors, knee/elbow pads are permitted but not mandatory equipment)
Must have safety equipment: eye and hearing protection along with chamber safety flag for the rifle.
MUST HAVING AN APPROPRIATE CALIBER CLEANING ROD AND CLEANING SUPPLIES. RIFLE CLEANING WILL OCCUR BEFORE AND AFTER THE RANGE SESSION.
