Handgun 101 Training Course

Course Objective:

This course is designed to build confidence and proficiency in new shooters. Through hands-on instruction, students will learn the fundamentals of handgun operation, maintenance, and safety, with the goal of becoming competent and responsible handgun users.

Course Outline:

1. Introduction to Handguns
-  Overview of handgun types and components
-  Basic handgun safety rules
-  Handling and storage procedures

2. Handgun Disassembly and Reassembly
-  Step-by-step guide to disassembling handgun
-  Reassembly and function checks

3. Shooting Fundamentals
-  Proper grip techniques for accuracy and recoil management
-  Sight alignment and sight picture fundamentals
-  Trigger control and follow-through
-  Dry fire practice to reinforce skills

4. MALFUNCTION TRAINING
-  UNDERSTANDING OF VARIES MALFUNCTIONS WITH A HANDGUN
-  HANDS ON TRAINING ON HOW TO HANDLE MALFUNCTIONS
- KEY MALFUNCTIONS: MISS FIRE, HANGFIRE, SQUIDLOAD, DOUBLE FEED, STOVE PIPE

Certification Requirements:

To receive the Handgun 101 certification, students must pass a practical shooting test. The criteria for passing are as follows:

- 3-Yard Distance: Must hit 7 out of 10 rounds on target
- 5-Yard Distance: Must hit 4 out of 6 rounds on target

Students who successfully meet these standards will receive their certification, demonstrating their competency in basic handgun operation and marksmanship.
