Description
Building on our Protective Pistol 1 course, this class introduces students to the concepts of how to think with a gun in hand during a critical incident, and how to deliver precise fire to fight stopping locations on the body under constraint or duress.
Students will be exposed to exercises which require applying discretionary decision making with emphasis placed on muzzle awareness and avoidance. Students will also be exposed to the concepts of Tactical Anatomy Systems TM, developed by Dr. James Williams, as part of this course to enable them to deliver precise, fight stopping hits.

Expectations and Outcomes
At the end of this course a student should:
- Understand that covering people with a muzzle that we are not justified to shoot is not a best practice
- Understand various ready positions, how they vary and their purposes
- Understand why "going fast" is not always a good idea
- Understand the optimal locations for shot placement to achieve fight stopping hits
- Be able to complete a qualification exercise to a score of 80%

Documentation Requirements
This is not a basic course but is for a student who has some manner of experience. Students should possess a valid state issued Concealed Carry Permit, or be able to demonstrate certificated training from a recognized school, state organization or instructor in concealed carry skills or related topics.
Completion of our Protective Pistol 1 course meets the eligibility requirement.Students actively employed in law enforcement meet eligibility requirement for this course.
Requirements
Student should expect to supply:
- A compact or larger size pistol
- 9mm
- .40
- .45
- Other calibers at instructor discretion
- At least 3 magazines and a pouch to carry at least 1 on the best
- Concealed carry holster and cover garment
- Any holster which uses a locking device activated by the trigger finger is not allowed (e.g. Serpa)
- Active law enforcement may use their duty belt
- A modern double action or double action only revolver
- 3 inch or longer barrel
- .32 (Long or H&R)
- .38 / .357
- Speedloaders and any other loading devices such as strips and a pouch to carry at least one on the belt
- Concealed carry holster and cover garment
- Any holster which uses a locking device activated by the trigger finger is not allowed (e.g. Serpa)
400 rounds of modern manufacture ball ammunition specifically for the gun being used
NOTE:
It is often a good idea to bring a second gun in case the gun you are using breaks down, which happens a lot in classes of this nature.
