Description
PSC’s Shotgun Method (12 hours, INTERMEDIATE skill level) is a technical course of fire designed to teach and reinforce the fundamentals of practical shotgun shooting.
Topics Covered
We meet Friday evening for discussion of safety protocols and shooting theory. Instructors interact with students utilizing both shotgun simulators and live guns. Baseline skill levels are quickly assessed, and any gear issues are sorted out.
Skills are developed and enhanced on Saturday. Material covered includes safety manipulation and the mount, body alignment, recoil management, ammunition management, simple malfunction clearance, chokes and patterning, slug employment, close quarters techniques, weak shoulder manipulations, target transitions, and Method integration.
Expectations and Outcomes
PSC’s Shotgun Method challenges across the shooting skills spectrum – students should be of sound body and mind.

- semi auto or pump shotgun
- 275 birdshot shells/game loads (min.)
- 10 buckshot shells
- 10 rifled slugs
- weapon lubricant
- tourniquet (C-A-T® or SOF®TT-W)
- pen and small notepad
