The Handgun Marksmanship Basics I: This class is designed to help persons overcome fear and uncertainty of their ability to confidently and competently handle a firearm, given varied conditions.
This class, in particular, will focus specifically on the following:
- Handgun Safety
- Handgun Familiarization
- Safe Handgun Handling
- Disassembly/Reassembly
- Function Check
- Cycle of Operation
- Magazine Loading/Unloading
- Marksmanship Fundamentals
- Target Acquisition/Transition Drills
- Dynamic Movement Drills
- Live Fire/Dynamic Movement

Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion the student will be enabled to:
. Demonstrate knowledge of the Universal Firearm Safety Rules
. Demonstrate knowledge of handgun cycle of operation
. Demonstrate skill in safe handgun handling
. Demonstrate skill in marksmanship fundamentals
. Demonstrate skill in disassembly/reassembly
. Demonstrate skill in loading and unloading the magazine
. Demonstrate skill in safe clearing, loading and unloading the Handgun
. Demonstrate skill to safely present, aim, and fire the handgun accurately
. Demonstrate ability to move

Documentation Requirements
Valid ID
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
Handgun and 2 spare magazines (strongly recommend full-size semi-automatic pistol)
Minimum 100 complete units of ammunition
Outside the Waistband (OWB) Holster
Eye and Ear Protection (Recommend Electronic Earmuffs in order to hear instructions and range commands)
Range appropriate clothing for suitability and comfort

Magazine belt pouches
Camp chair for breaks
