The training philosophy of PracticalCarry is to deliver professional quality content and exprertise to other professionals. We focus on educating our students to have the skills, knowledge and mental preparation to make the right defensive decision at the most critical seconds of their lives. John New, our Chief Instructor is qualified as a RangeMaster Instructor Development graduate (100/99.2/95), an Army Military Intelligence Veteran, an active EMT-B, with experience and active credentials to provide the training listed below. We offer training from the first time handling and firing a weapon all the way to advanced single and multi person room clearing and tactics delivered by our advanced instructor, a retired 75th Regiment Master Breecher and SOF instructor.
Courses offered:
- Introduction to defensive firearms (USCCA Mini-Course)
- Defensive firearms experience (sample from a wide variety of types and calibers pistol/carbine/shotgun)
- NRA Pistol
- USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense
- USCCA Countering the Mass Shooter Threat
- Texas Department of Public Safety License to Carry (same day class and live fire)
- Texas Department of Public Safety (armed teacher) School Safety (two day course with UTM force on force scenarios)
- Stop the Bleed - Immediate Trauma First Aid for Laypersons (2-3 hour course with hands on labs)
- NFA Experience (fire Class-3 NFA weapons, SBRs, suppressors)
- Custom classes tailored to the needs of the student or group.

Policies
Cancellation Policy
We try to work with our students to the best of our abilities but we do have a policy of charging for no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled class due to that person's registration preventing us from filling that seat with another student. If you are between 7 days and 24 hours - please contact us to discuss our options.
Reschedule Policy
If you notify us at least 7 days prior to the scheduled class, you will recieve a full refund or at your option, will be added to our next class date (if capacity allows).
Other Policy
We, by law, may only offer training in our classes to those persons whom are legally able to posess a firearm or other weapon. If you have questions or other concerns, please inform us in advance of the class so we may consider your situation. For all classes, each student will be required to complete a set of waivers during their registration. For force on force training where physical contact will be made, due to the increased risk of injury, an additional waiver acknowledging such risk will be required.
