Description
We offer the course required for the Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit. The class is 9 hours long and your fee includes lunch and your range fee. During this class we go over the basics of safe pistol handling, proper stance, grip and trigger control. If you have no shooting experience or your accuracy could use some help this course is for you.

Course Syllabus
P&D Uses the NRA Basic Pistol Course to teach the required training for the Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit. The topics covered are as follows.
1. One hour of instruction on handgun nomenclature and safe handling procedures of a revolver and semi-automatic pistol;
2. One hour of instruction on ammunition knowledge and fundamentals of pistol shooting;
3. Three hours of instruction on the use of deadly force and conflict resolution which will include a review of L.R.S. 14:18 through 14:22 and
d. One hour of instruction on handgun shooting positions;
e. One hour of instruction on child access prevention; and
f. Two hours of actual live range fire and proper handgun cleaning procedures are required as listed below:
i. Live range fire shall include 12 rounds each at 6 feet, 10 feet, and 15 feet for a total of 36 rounds,
ii. Each applicant or permittee must perform at least one safe reload of the handgun at each distance,
iii. Each applicant or permittee must score 100% hits within the silhouette portion of a NRA B-27 Type silhouette target with at least 36 rounds.
Expectations and Outcomes
The student will recieve a certifiacte of completion from the course which can then be submitted to the state off Louisiana with the CHP application.

Bring the following with you on the day of class.
1. Drivers License
2. Your Gun
3. 50 roubds of ammuniution.
Requirements
Students may shoot any handgun they prefer for the class, but we do recommend that you shoot with the gun you plan to carry.
