Description
Students will learn how to use of commercially available and hasty tourniquets, wound packing material and pressure dressings. Students will learn how to use materials found within their surroundings to help save a individual, until first responders arive on scene to take over.
Topics Covered
Topics to be covered include what to do when contact is made with a victim, checking the airway, checking for injuries (blood, open wounds, burns and gun shots), how to prevent hypothermia, how to apply turniquets and prepare a victim to be evacuated.
Expectations and Outcomes
Students will learn the correct way to approach, assess and prepare a victim to evalcuation.
