Description
Module 2 is an intermediate course that will allow female students to dig a little deeper into the concepts that were learned in Module 1 – Women’s Basic Pistol and, while this course is not a defensive pistol or a marksmanship class, in the classroom students will be introduced to a proper self-defense mindset and the live-fire range drills will challenge their skills with the goal of having them prepared to move to the next and final level of training in this series, Women's Defensive Pistol.
Topics Covered
In this second module of the USCCA’s “Women’s Handgun & Self-Defense Fundamentals” series, returning students will revisit the foundations of handgun safety and firearm basics including the 4 Universal Safety Rules and proper shooting fundamentals. We will delve into revolvers vs. semiautomatic firearms, their advantages & disadvantages, and choosing the right firearm for concealed carry. We will also cover how firearms function, different ammunition types, firearm malfunctions, and different concealed carry methods for women. Lastly, we will study the significance of situational awareness, the importance of establishing boundaries, and the critical need for having a survivor mindset.
On the live-fire range, we will practice loading, unloading, and reloading our firearms, properly addressing firearm malfunctions, and we will engage in live-fire exercises that will involve multiple shots, multiple targets, and one-handed shooting.

Each student who successfully completes this course will receive a Certificate of Completion from Northpointe Training.
