Description
Attendees must be 21 years or older. This nine-hour course takes place in both a classroom and a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer (RSO) candidates will learn the roles and responsibilities of an RSO, Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), range inspections, range rules, range briefings, emergency procedures, and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Course Evaluation form.
Topics Covered
Range Safety Officer candidates will study the roles and responsibilities of an RSO, including Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), conducting range inspections, enforcing range rules, delivering range briefings, handling emergency procedures, and addressing firearm stoppages and malfunctions.
Expectations and Outcomes
Every Range Safety Officer candidate will be provided with an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and a Course Evaluation form.
