Description
This course imparts the fundamental knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the safe and proper use of a shotgun when shooting at a moving target.
This course spans a minimum of ten hours and encompasses both classroom instruction and range time focused on the skills required to shoot shotguns at moving targets.
Topics Covered
Participants will be educated on the NRA's guidelines for safe gun handling, the components and operation of shotguns, the various elements of shotgun shells, potential malfunctions, shooting fundamentals, range protocols, and techniques for engaging both straightaway and angled targets. Additionally, instruction will cover the cleaning of shotguns and provide ongoing opportunities for skill enhancement.
Expectations and Outcomes
Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
