About McLeod Defense, LLC
I dedicated over a decade to full-time law enforcement, during which time I held the position of my agency's firearms instructor. Up to this point and throughout this tenure, I accumulated over 1,000 hours of formal training as a student, which significantly enhanced my skill set. As the lead instructor in firearms, defensive tactics, and reality-based training, I not only taught these skills to other officers but also actively applied them in high-pressure situations to ensure the safety and security of myself and those around me.
These experiences give me a deep understanding of the challenges one may encounter during potentially volatile situations. I have navigated difficult circumstances and developed a mindset oriented toward preparedness. These scenarios are similar to those affecting individuals, families, and businesses daily.
My background serves as a solid foundation of qualifications that I can use as your instructor. I have undergone advanced training and, gained real-world experience with SWAT and Sniper teams, and specialized in firearms instruction.
The result of my training is a variety of certifications from rigorous training programs, including Advanced Firearms Instructor, VIP Protection, Handgun Retention and Disarming Instructor, Practical Unarmed Combat, and Close Quarters Battle Instructor among others. This diverse blend of expertise and experience positions me well to address your training needs effectively.
Among the various aspects of my training, I particularly relish sharing lessons learned during executive protection courses with my students. In this field, the use of a weapon or physical intervention with an aggressor is regarded as a failure on the part of the protective agent. The training emphasizes situational awareness and recognizing the body language of potential aggressors to avoid volatile situations before they escalate. I integrate this philosophy and these techniques during the lecture portions of my classes.
Since my transition out of law enforcement, I have remained committed to my ongoing training journey. Embracing the philosophy of “always being a student,” I continue to attend training classes as a student, not only in firearms but also in trauma response, ensuring I can provide essential medical assistance in emergencies, as well as armorer training, which allows me to assist students if their firearms experience malfunctions during a class.

Waiver
I HEREBY WAIVE AND RELEASE, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge McLeod Defense, LLC and it’s agents, members, officers, managers, sponsors, employees, officers, directors, affiliates, successors and assigns, of and from any and all claims, demands, debts, contracts, expenses, causes of action, lawsuits, damages and liabilities, of every kind and nature, whether known or unknown, in law or equity, that I ever had or may have, arising from or in any way related to my participation in any kind of training, events or activities conducted by, or on the premises of, or for the benefit of, McLeod Defense, LLC provided that this waiver of liability does not apply to any acts of gross negligence, or intentional, willful or wanton misconduct.
I understand that the activities that I will participate in are inherently dangerous and that firearms by their very nature are unpredictable and may cause serious or grievous injuries, including bodily injury, damage to personal property and/or death. I understand that certain risks, dangers, and injuries due to inadequate or defective equipment, and all other potential dangers inherent to activities involving firearms exist. In addition, I understand that the training I am undertaking to carry a concealed weapon may not protect nor prepare me for the many dangerous situations that may arise as a result of my decision to carry a concealed weapon. On behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns and next of kin, I waive all claims for damages, injuries and death sustained to me or my property that I may have against the aforementioned released party to such activity whether caused by the ordinary negligence of the released party or otherwise, except for acts of gross negligence, or intentional, willful or wanton misconduct indicated above.
By this waiver, I assume any risk, take full responsibility, and waive any claims of personal injury, death or damage to personal property associated with the training provided by McLeod Defense, LLC, including but not limited to target shooting, using facilities or equipment in any manner, form or fashion, and engaging in any other related activities, including my decision to carry a concealed weapon at some later date.
This WAIVER AND RELEASE contains the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior written or oral agreements between them concerning the subject matter of this WAIVER AND RELEASE. The provisions of this WAIVER AND RELEASE may be waived, altered, amended, or repealed, in whole or in part, only upon the prior written consent of all parties.
The provision of this WAIVER AND RELEASE will continue in full force and effect even after the termination of the activities conducted by, on the premises of, or for the benefit of McLeod Defense, LLC, whether by agreement by operation of law or otherwise.
I have read, understand, and fully agree to the terms of this WAIVER AND RELEASE. I understand and confirm that by signing this WAIVER AND RELEASE I have given up considerable future legal rights. I have signed this Agreement freely, voluntarily, under no duress or threat of duress, without inducement promise, or guarantee being communicated to me. My signature is proof of my intention to execute a complete and unconditional WAIVER AND RELEASE of all liability to the full extent of the law. I am 18 years of age or older and mentally competent to enter into this waiver.
