Rich Hart is a Marine Corp veteran who served from 1999 to 2003. After being honorably discharged from the military, he attended The Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree with double majors. While studying at OSU, he was a member of The Ohio State University NCAA Pistol Team.

After completing college, Rich was hired as a full time police officer with the Canton, Ohio Police Department. In the eleven and a half years that Rich worked at Canton PD, he was assigned to the patrol division and spent five and a half years on Canton’s multi-jurisdictional SWAT team. While serving on the SWAT team, Rich attained the grade of Master Operator. He has experience and training in CQB (Close Quarters Battle), Hostage Rescue Tactics, Vehicle CQB, Explosive/Thermal/Ballistic breaching, low light shooting, and tactical combat casualty care. After serving with Canton PD for over eleven years, Rich decided to retire early and pursue instructing and security consulting full time.

Rich is a NRA range safety officer and holds multiple NRA instructor certificates. Rich has also successfully completed multiple instructor and instructor development programs to include, but not limited to, Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Pistol/Rifle/Shotgun Instructor, Glock- Pistol Instructor, 88 Tactical- Vehicle CQB Instructor, NAEMT Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Instructor, Live Fire Shoothouse Instructor, CQB Instructor,  M.A.C.E- O.C. (Pepper spray) Instructor, CTS- Flash Bang Instructor, CTS- Chemical Munitions Instructor, Sentinel Concepts- Train the Trainer Course, and LMS Defense- Gunfighter Instructor Course.

Rich has 15 years of teaching experience and has trained law enforcement officers, federal agents, private organizations, and the general public. He also participates in ongoing professional development in order to ensure that his students are being trained in relevant material and tactics.

Rich is dedicated to serving his community and still serves as an auxiliary police officer, SWAT officer, and Emergency Medical Responder in Northeast Ohio. In 2018 Rich was asked to join the Ohio Tactical Officers Association (OTOA) training cadre and aid in the education of law enforcement officers everywhere.  Rich also gives back to the community by donating time and resources to teach youth marksmanship programs, and organizing both regional shooting events and non-profit fundraisers.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Lampas Security Consulting reserves the right to cancel any training program at any time with reasonable notice given to participants. If a class is cancelled, refunds will be paid in full or participants may apply their credit toward future training classes. In the event of a cancellation, Lampas Security Consulting is not responsible for any non-refundable travel expenses or penalties a participant may incur. This includes but is not limited to, air travel, hotels, ETC. 

If a participant cancels

1. 4 weeks prior or greater, the participant will receive a 100% full refund.
2. Less than 4 weeks but greater than 3 weeks, the participant will receive a 100% credit towards future training.
3. Less than 3 weeks but greater than two weeks, the participant will receive a 50% credit towards future training.
4. Less than 2 weeks but greater than one week, the participant will receive a 25% credit towards future training. 
5. Less than 1 week, the participant will forfeit 100% of their credit.

Other Policy

HOLSTERS:
-In most of our classes only outside the waistband holsters are permitted. No Black Hawk SERPA or SERPA style holsters are permitted. No floppy nylon/ cloth or worn out leather holsters are permitted. Holsters with some type of retention value / device is STRONGLY recommended. Shooters may be moving in and out of unconventional shooting positions and safety is paramount. We normally recommend some type of open top Kydex or molded plastic holster with positive retention or a law enforcement duty style holster. Law Enforcement Officers are permitted to use a Black Hawk SERPA duty holster if that is what they carry on duty. This only applies to duty style holsters.

Paticipants should always bring food, drinks, and medications that will be needed for the durration of the training events. 

Most training events are conducted outdoors. All training events will be held regardless of weather unless there is a risk of lightning.

Participants should bring weather appropriate clothing and are encouraged to bring extra clothing and footwear.

Waiver

In consideration of being allowed to participate in training or other events provided by Lampas Security Consulting LLC, I hereby understand and agree to this release of liability, waiver of legal rights, and assumption of risk and to the terms hereof as follows:

I fully understand that this training/ event is inherently dangerous to myself and others. I fully understand that the training I will be participating in could possibly be dangerous to myself and others. I will not hold Lampas Security Consulting LLC, any instructor, or any training facility liable for any property damage, injury or death caused by myself or another.

Durring triaining  / events I will not be under the influence of any drug or medication, legal or illegal that will impair my judgment or ability to safely participate in the activities. I also have no physical or psychological illnesses that would prevent me from safely participating in the training / event activities.

I acknowledge that the use of firearms could result in injury to participants, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death. I understand and acknowledge that using firearms is an activity that has inherent dangers that no amount of care, caution, instruction or expertise can eliminate and I EXPRESSLY AND VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISK OF DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY SUSTAINED WHILE PARTICIPATING IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES WHETHER OR NOT CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES.

I take full responsibility for, RELEASE, AND HOLD HARMLESS Lampas Security Consulting LLC.  their owners, employees, instructors, and any training facility from any and all liability, claims, demands or causes of action that I may hereafter have for injuries or damages arising out of my participation in all training activities included, but not limited to, losses CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES.

I further agree that I WILL NOT SUE OR MAKE CLAIM against the released parties for damages or other losses sustained as a result of any injury, or death, sustained from my participation in training activities. I also agree to INDEMNIFY AND HOLD THE RELEASED PARTIES HARMLESS from all claims, judgments and costs including attorney's fees, incurred in connection with any action brought as a result of participation in training activities.

I hereby expressly recognize that this Release of Liability, Waiver of Legal Rights, and Assumption of Risk is a contract pursuant to which I have released any and all claims against the Released Parties resulting from any injury, or death, sustained from participation in training activities, including any claims for negligence of the Released Parties. I

 further represent that I am at least 18 years of age, I waive and release any and all legal rights that may accrue to me as the result of any injury I may suffer while engaging the Ohio CCW class and any firearms training.

 

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF LEGAL RIGHTS AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS.
