About Applied Concepts Security

Scott Has over 30 years of verifiable shooting and training experince. He is a combat veteran of 2 branches of the military, the United States Marine Corps and the US Army. There he learned not only to fine tune his shooting skills but also to apply them in practical application. He is a 100% combat disabled veteran. 

Scott has been employed by the Dept. of Energy and provided armed nuclear security at the most secure facility in the world. He contracted for Blackwater USA, Triple Canopy, Greystone LTD., Olive Group and more, holding almost every billet. He was a blue badge direct hire for the Diplomatic Security Service and other agencies, acting as the agent in charge of security details. He is an accredited federal firearms trainer and training instructor for diplomatic protection missions. He has deployed to the most dangerous places in the world conducting expeditionary diplomacy and intelligence gathering. He has been trained by some of the best in the US. He regulary competes in 3 gun matches and USPCA matches. His focus is on the basics and prepairing for real world scenarios. His company currently provides contracted armed school security. He is an author on school security and elk hunting, his other passion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Firearms- Bring the gun you want to learn on, and the appropriate ammunition. NO RELOADS.
Holster- Bring the appropriate kydex holster with retention that will keep the firearm from falling out. I dont care about what level of retention, only that it is appropriate. 
Mag Pouch- Kydex prefered, be able to hold at least 2 mags
Dump Pouch- This is a place to retain magazines and for holding loose rounds while on the firing line.
High Pro kit- This is a "war belt" type. Mag pouches, dump pouches, drop leg or comporable holster, and a medical kit.
Low Pro kit- This is a kit that is concealable, meaning tight to your waist. holster, mag pouches, etc. 
3 Gun- This kit is strictly for competition. IFYKYK
Eyes- Appropriate eye protection, either clear, shaded, or color
Ears- Hearing protection in the form of foam plugs, headset, etc. 
Footwear- Closed toed comfortable, supportive shoes
Hydration and Chow- Bring your own food and water. We will break for lunch but the range is pretty far from stuff.
