Description
This class meets the standards set by the Texas Dept of Public Safety for classroom training and firearm qualification in order to receive a Texas License to Carry permit.
Topics Covered
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive their LTC-100 or LTC 101 (range instructions and proficiency demonstration if they've taken the online training already) per the Texas DPS requirements:
- Attend 4-6 hours of classroom instruction and range time
- Classroom Instruction
- Laws that relate to weapons and the use of deadly forceHandgun use and safety, including use of restraint holsters and methods to ensure the secure carrying of openly carried handguns
- Non-violent dispute resolution
- Proper storage practices for handguns with an emphasis on storage practices that eliminate the possibility of accidental injury to a child
- ?Written test - minimum of 70% to pass
- Range
- Firearms proficiency demonstration - score a minimum of 70% (175 out of 250 points) to pass.

Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will recieve their Texas LTC-100 or LTC-101 documentation.

Documentation Requirements
It is recommeded, but not required that students have completed a basic handgun class or equivalent.
Our safety requirements are that the student MUST know and be able to demonstrate how to safely load, fire, and unload a handgun.
Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
- Safe, Functioning Semi-Automatic Pistol or Revolver. ?
- Hat with brim
- Eye Protection: wrap around polycarbonate preferred
- Hearing Protection
- Weather appropriate clothing, to include long pants and closed toe shoes. No flip-flops.
