Description
This half day short, comprehensive workshop is designed for those who have decided to use a shotgun for personal protection and home defense. The focus will be on the deployment and use of the shotgun to include loading, unloading, and functioning the shotgun in simulated self-defense scenarios.
The shotgun is a devastating weapon system that fills a wide range of uses from self-defense/home protection to survival. This training course will cover the basics of the shotgun and introduces techniques that are critical when deploying the shotgun for personal defense.

Documentation Requirements
Congratulations on your successful registration for the upcoming class with GTAC. Be sure to confirm your date, time, and location. Directions to 17 South Rod and Gun Club are included with this email. Once you have entered the gate, follow the road past the clubhouse, past the skeet range, and you will see the 500 yard range. The GTAC gate is to the left of the 500 yard range. You will see our logo on the fence. Please park outside the fenced area. You are welcome to use the restrooms in the clubhouse, at the skeet range, or near the tactical bays. We look forward to a fast paced, safe, and challenging class with you.
Requirements
Be sure to bring the following*:
- Full size functional shotgun in 12 or 20 gauge
- Sling if you have one (not required)
- 50 rounds of field loads (#7 or #8 shot)
- (Note: If you are interested in patterning your shotgun, bring 5 rounds of 00 or #4 buckshot or whatever round you will have your shotgun loaded with.)
- Eye and ear protection
- Hat with brim (baseball hat)
- Sunscreen and bug spray
- Snack and water
- Any personal comfort items you may need (bandaids, etc.)

There are no required prerequisites for this class. This is an entry level workshop, or a great update of your skills.
