Description
This course can be utilized as a stand-alone class or as an excellent follow up to basic pistol, or the CCW course. The Defensive Pistol Course builds on the fundamentals of pistol shooting, further emphasizing how to effectively use your firearm to protect yourself or another in a dynamic critical incident at close range, where statistically most violent encounters occur. This course is designed to demonstrate how to work within limited space parameters while creating space and distance.
This class focuses on the training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense, by instructors with long careers within the law enforcement and/or military communities.
Students will learn how to better utilize their body and body position to make accurate shots on target while under stress. This type of training will hone intuitive skill sets that
the body will naturally perform under stress. Techniques shown are simple to remember, easily performed and effective-regardless of skill level.
Topics Covered
Proper use of range, creating space, movement, multithreat engagement, and recognition of proper application of techniques for specific situations.
The course will culminate with multiple reactionary drills, meant to reinforce all techniques demonstrated that day.
