Description
Next Steps: Small Groups is your stepping stone to developing your fundamentals and to prepare you for more advanced classes. It is a tiered learning system of four individual lessons designed to allow students to attend at their leisure once a week. Class sizes are kept small so you still get that personal one on one instruction. No matter what lesson you are on, you can attend a small group at your leisure and be ensured that you will not be behind or ahead of your lesson plan, you work at your own pace. Students who complete all 4 lessons are able to attend a discounted orientation of the Florida Statutes necessary to apply for your concealed weapons and firearms license. All firearms handling will be from the shooting stalls.
Topics Covered
Tier 1: Introduction to firearms with an emphasis on proper and safe handling. A student may test out of this class if they are able to demonstrate their skills to complete this tier.
Tier 2: Fundamentals of Marksmanship. In this lesson we will work with you on the proper fundamentals of accurately firing a handgun through various courses of fire
Tier 3: Fundamentals of Defensive Shooting. In this tier we will explore shooting a firearm with the intent of stopping a threat. We will introduce you to shooting multiple times in rapid succession as well point index shooting.
Tier 4: Tying it All Together. Here we will focus on properly applying the previous 3 lessons and reenforcing the fundamentals taught in the previous 3 lessons. Upon completion of this lesson students will receive a certificate to display their accomplishments.
Expectations and Outcomes
Students will be expected to show a willingness to learn how to safely handle a firearm and an openness to accept instruction from certified instructors.
Types
Advanced, Basic, Intermediate, Concealed Carry Training
Requirements
Students will need a firearm and 50rds of ammo per session. Ear and ear protection must be worn at all times. Rentals are available if needed. Students should wear appropriate attire and closed toe shoes.
