Description
The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is the time-tested, nationally recognized introduction to handguns, covering safety, types and selection of handguns, types selection of ammunition, and information about marksmanship, shooting sports and suggested future experiences. The live fire range portion helps establish shooting fundamentals as a prelude to further training and practice. Highly recommended as a first course for anyone new to handguns, or wanting a refresher class. Also an essential basics class before taking your first self defense with firearms class.
Sometimes offered as as a single day class, but contact the instructor about the preferred timing with classroom portion on one day and subsequent range day for live fire portion.
We provide the handgun and ammunition (.22LR) for initial live fire practice. Contact the instructor to discuss whether to bring your own handgun and ammunition
Course is not required for an Arkansas Concealed Handgun Carry License (CHCL), but recommended for those holding or seeking a CHCL.

Fundamental safety and range rules.

Types of ammunition.
Marksmanship fundamentals including stance, grip, and trigger control.
Recommendations on further practice and training.
Expectations and Outcomes
Successful students recieve official NRA completion certificate, suitable for confirming basic safety training required at some ranges and competitions.
