Our mantra is that we would really like to help people become:

RESPONSIBLY ARMED AMERICANS

More than we want to make  “shooters”. Don’t get me wrong… shooting is FUN! But not for people who have grown up with bad feelings toward firearms, or have scary memories of them growing up – that’s why we are sensitive to every person and the learning needs they have.

Our course is not a “quickie” because you cannot really learn what we want you to know in just a couple of hours. The USCCA has a terrific course designed to help everyone have a good respect for their firearms and also a trust that they (firearms) can be your best friend too.

Our CCW class is based mostly on the USCCA Curricula with emphasis on DEFENSIVE shooting rather than marksmanship. The most important time to ever need your gun is to protect yourself, or your loved ones. Here are the main points we teach:

<![if !supportLists]>·        <![endif]>Learn about the types of handguns there are, how they work, how to rack them if they are semi-automatic, how to load them, the ammo, the recoil, and the way we might carry them.

<![if !supportLists]>·        <![endif]>Learn the importance of proper care of our firearms.

The day is full of information, but provided in a fun and interesting way. No matter what instructors you have for this course you will not feel ignored, rushed or over-whelmed because the instructors are pros. No one has ever complained of "death by PowerPoint", although we do use PowerPoint presentations. No one has ever said it was too long, because they were entertained and were learning the entire day. PowerPoints are interjected with movies, graphics, graphs, and memes that all help to make the important points clear while still having time for questions and personal attention.

Expectations and Outcomes

The State of Florida requires that I observe you safely (and hopefully competently) handle a firearm and shoot the firearm.

As soon as the shooting portion is complete we will sign your certificate as legal proof that you have taken a firearm safety class as required by the state. We hope you will find this class more than just a safety class.

Documentation Requirements

I will be creating your certificates prior to class. It is imperative that your name on that certificate matches EXACTLY how it appears on YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE. If it is not correct on the registration form, please mail a picture of your drivers license. There will be a $10 charge for re-printing any certificates - I really just hope you double check this information.

Women: PLEASE DO NOT wear any low cut or scoop necked tops. Once a semiautomatic firearm is shot a shell casing is ejected... and it is warm. Wearing low cut tops almost guarantees a direct hit! Speaking from experience you won't want that.
ALSO you may wish to bring a ball cap (something with a brim) to prevent ejected rounds from hitting your face, and please don't wear open-toed shoes.

The class is devloped from a book, written by the USCCA: "Concealed Carry and Home Defense". This book will be available for purchase at the class if you wish to buy it for $35.

Bring a lunch/snacks with you and something to drink. Unfortunately we will be working throughout the class and you might need some sustenance.

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

Requirements

During the shooting qualification part of the class you will use our firearms and our ammunition for this. IF you prefer to use your own firearm, you must also provide your own ammunition.
Also, you will have the opportunity to stay and practice with your own gun if you wish.
