The Founding & Mission
Chris founded Cobalt Firearm Instruction (CFI) in 2017 to address the need for everyday civilians to have access to high quality professional training in the foundational skills of the defensive use of a firearm. Chris' background is ENTIRELY civilian. Having spent over two decades honing his craft, he brought his skills along with experience training with members of the armed forces & law enforcement to bear on developing courses tailored to the new shooter. CFI's mission is to bridge the gap between the watered down book-learning "basics" classes and the hyper tactical military style training so commonly offered. Everyday citizens deserve training that focuses on safety while helping them build a rock solid foundation of time tested skills with a firearm. Anyone can learn to handle, use, and shoot a firearm safely and effectively. CFI is here to show them how.

The Evolution
Over the years working with 1000's of new shooters & students, CFI's offerings have grown to meet the needs of citizens learning to use their firearms safely and effectively. From the flagship "Handgun Intro" course where CFI began, classes have grown to include:

Policies

Cancellation Policy

We understand schedules can be chaotic. Rather than cancel, we invite our students to reschedule to a later date free of charge.

In the event that a cancellation is needed, Cobalt Firearm Instruction, LLC. offers a full refund of class costs (minus $5 for processing) if cancelled 14 or more days prior to the class start.

(i.e: class is being held on July 15th, any cancellation made on or before July 1st will be allowed a full refund, minus $5, if requested.)

Any cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled class date will be subject to a 75% refund.
Any cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled class date will be subject to a 50% refund.
No refund will be issued to no-shows the day of class.

Reschedule Policy

We understand schedules can be chaotic. Rather than cancel, we invite our students to reschedule to a later date free of charge.
Cobalt Firearm Instruction, LLC. Offers (1) class reschedule free of charge as long as reschedule request is made at least 1 day before the start of class. 

(i.e: the class is being held on July 15th, you can reschedule your class for free until July 14th)

Day-Of class rescheduling will be subject to a $10 rescheduling fee.
Only 1 reschedule allowed per person, per class. 2nd reschedule will be considered a cancellation, forfeiting class fee in full and requiring the student to sign up & pay from the beginning for the next available course.
