Description
This 2-day course includes the NRA's Basic Instructor Training (BIT) cirriculum, required to become an NRA-certified instructor, and the Pistol Instructor cirriculum, requried to be able to teach the NRA's Basics of Pistol Shooting class. For those who are already NRA-certified instructors already qualified to each other NRA courses, there is an option to skip the BIT portion of the class and just attend the Pistol Instructor portion (contact Centerpoint directly for more details, as advertised pricing covers both portions of the class).
Topics Covered
Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course student packet. During the course candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures; basic public speaking skills; training methodology; use of a training team and training aids; organizing a course, building a budget; and finally preparing to teach.
Expectations and Outcomes
Students who successfully complete the course will be certified by the NRA to teach the NRA's Basics of Pistol Shooting class.

Documentation Requirements
Bring a government-issued photo ID.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
Students must bring a handgun of their choice (any caliber) with approximately 200 rounds of ammunition for that handgun, eye and ear protection, and wear appropriate clothing for shooting on an outdoor range (ie, cofmortable clothing for the weather on the day of the class, closed-toed shoes, hat, etc).
