Description

The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course is designed for individuals of all experience levels who want to learn the fundamentals of pistol shooting in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Whether you’re a first-time shooter or looking to sharpen your skills, this course provides a comprehensive foundation in firearm safety, operation, and marksmanship.

 

Students will receive hands-on instruction with both classroom learning and live-fire range exercises. Topics include:

  • Firearm safety rules and procedures

  • Pistol parts and operation (semi-automatic and revolver)

  • Ammunition knowledge and selection

  • Shooting fundamentals and range protocol

  • Pistol cleaning and maintenance

  • Safe storage and transport of firearms

 

Successful completion of the course includes the NRA Certificate of Completion, which may satisfy training requirements for a concealed carry permit, depending on your state.

 

This course is led by a certified NRA instructor and emphasizes responsible gun ownership, safety, and skill development.

 

Course Length: 8 hours (classroom & range time)

Minimum Age: Varies by state (typically 18 or older)

What to Bring: Valid ID, closed-toe shoes, hearing & eye protection (if owned), and a positive attitude
