Requirements

Requirements:

  • Student should know the 4 universal firearm safety rules

  1. Treat all guns as if they are loaded

  2. Never point your gun at anything you do not intend to shoot

  3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target

  4. Be aware of your target and what is beyond it

  • Students should have completed a basic firearms course from a reputable instructor previously

Equipment Requirements:

  • Student should have a pistol and a holster made specifically for that holster

    • Blackhawk serpa and serpa like holsters are not allowed, these will not be allowed in the course.  A Blackhawk serpa holster uses a retention device that requires the trigger finger to place pressure on the holster to release the retention.  These are very dangerous holsters that have caused negligent discharges of firearms and also caused people to shoot themselves.

  • 50 rounds of factory ammunition (more if the student wants to shoot more)
