AG & AG Target Time

Description

Shooting Journal Meeting with Target Time at Okeechobee Shooting Sports in Okeechobee.

This is a private event being instructed by Erica for the Broward County Chapter of A Girl & A Gun members only; your membership with A Girl & A Gun must be current at the time of this class in order to participate. 

• EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Beginning - Experienced shooters are welcome!
  • Shooters should have at least a basic knowledge of how their gun works and know and be able to follow all of the safety rules. If you have never shot a gun before, please contact Erica to schedule a beginners private lesson at Gun World before this date.

Topics Covered

- 10:30am: Arrive and Check In
- 11:00am - 12:00pm: Classroom: Journal Review, Color Track System and Personal Safety Plan
- 12:00pm - 1:00pm: Break, Snacks / Food and Transition to the Range
- 1:00pm - 4:45pm: Journal Pistol Skills Drills and Other Shooting Drills (and some fun shooting at the end if time allows)
- 4:45pm - 5:00pm: Clean Up and Depart

Expectations and Outcomes

During this Target Time we will review the A Girl & A Gun Shooting Journal Color Track System, Personal Safety Plan and Journal Month 1. We will practice dry fire and live fire drills from Month 1. If time permits we will review the dry and live fire drills for Month 2.

Required Equipment: 

• Note taking materials
• AG & AG Shooting Journal 
  • At least a printed copy of Parts 1 - 5 and Part 6 - Month 1 and Month 2
• Eye & ear protection
• Reliable Semi-Automatic Pistol
• At least 2 pistol magazines
• 100 Rounds of factory new ammunition
• Dummy Ammunition
  • Snap Caps or Tap Rack Training Aids (TRT) 
• Med Kit (If you do not have one, please consider getting one)
• Lunch, adequate snacks and hydration (both water AND electrolytes)
• Please wear outdoor range appropriate attire: closed-toe shoes, collared shirt.
  • Brimmed ball caps recommended but not required.
• Any other personal comfort items
  • Sunblock
  • Bug Spray 

Drawing from the holster will be allowed for members who are on the Shooting Journal Green or Orange Track; as long as you are able to follow all of the gun safety rules during the dry and live fire shooting drills. 

The following additional items are required for drawing from a holster: 

• Sturdy gun belt
• OWB holster perfered
  • For safety reasons bra holsters, bag holsters (Ukoala Bag and like systems), soft side collapsible holsters, cross draw, Serpa, ankle, off-body and behind-the-back holsters are NOT allowed.
• IWB carried open, not from concealment 
  • Enigma holster systems are allowed, however you must be able to use it in an open carry method. 
  • You must be able to safely tuck your shirt behind your IWB holster in a manner that does not interfear with safely drawing and holstering, we are not working from concealment.
