Basic Ohio Concealed Carry

Description

This class is designed to go over basic pistol safety and shooting. We will go over the anatomy of a pistol, firearm safety, cleaning, shooting basics and the legal aspect of carrying a firearm in Ohio and how to act during an act of self defense. This course will have classroom and shooting portions and meets the minimum requirements set out by the state to obtain your Concealed Handgun License in Ohio. Everything is included in the class but students are required to bring at least 50 rounds of ammo and food for their lunch. Our firearms are available to use for free during class just please bring 50 rounds of 9mm ammo with you.

Expectations and Outcomes

At the end of the course, students will have obtained the proper knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. They will have a brief overview on the laws for an Ohio Concealed Handgun License. Students will also have a legal lesson from USCCA on what happens in a self defense situation and what legal issues they may run into. Then, students will complete a written exam and complete the hands-on shooting portion of the class. Upon completion, they will be given a certificate that they may use to apply for their Ohio Concealed Handgun License any time within 3 years of the date they passed the class.

Requirements

Handgun with 50 rounds of ammo, if you are using our firearms just bring 50 rounds of 9mm, bring food for your lunch that day.
