Description
This fun and informative 8 hour class is for those new, inexperienced, or out-of-practice students wishing to learn about firearms safety, familiarization with revolvers and semi-auto pistols, ammunition, and marksmanship fundamentals. To ensure each student receives 1-on-1 tutelage when shooting, class size is limited to a maximum of 8 students. Students can expect to spend 4 hours in the classroom before taking a 1 hour break and meeting at the range (approximately 15 minutes from the classroom) for approximately 3-4 hours of practical shooting. Students will shoot approximately 125-150 rounds of ammunition during this time, and safety will be reinforced throughout the day.
*** Handgun/ Ammo requirement ***
A revolver and it's ammunition is supplied by the instructor for a portion of the class and included in the basic fee. In addition, you must choose one of the following:
1. You must bring your own semiauto handgun and 150 rounds of ammunition OR
2. Students may elect to share a handgun, provided each student has 150 rounds of ammunition and no more than 2 students use the same handgun OR
3. You must purchase the additional "Handgun Rental" for $10.00 and "Basic/ Ammo" for $75.00.

- Firearms Safety, including laws regarding Storage to Protect Minors
- Handgun Familiarization
-- Revolver and Semiauto pistols (nomenclature, parts, function, loading/ unloading, safety checks, malfunctions, etc)
-- Ammunition (components, selection, uses, etc)
- Marksmanship Fundamentals
-- Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Trigger Press, Breathing, Follow-Through, etc
Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course students are expected to have a basic understanding of the safe care and handling of handguns. Students will be able to discuss and identify firearms safety rules, types of handguns, and common handgun parts/ nomenclature. Students will be able to correctly identify types of handgun malfunctions, characteristics of ammunition, and how to correctly choose ammunition for various firearms. Students will be able to demonstrate proper safety procedures when handling or receiving handguns, loading/ unloading, functions checks, clearing malfunctions, and proper care and maintenance procedures for handguns. Students will further achieve proficiency in firing a handgun as demonstrated by a number of courses of fire with both a semiauto pistol and revolver. Upon reaching the desired level of competence, students will be issued a certificate suitable for framing, and will receive a discount code for a future Concealed Carry Handgun course as well!

Documentation Requirements
You will be required to sign a Course Waiver Form and Range Waiver as well at the beginning of the class.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
Students are expected to be attentive and alert with a positive attitude and bring the following:
* Baseball hat/ cap with a brim
* Appropriate clothing for the weather (we shoot rain or shine unless it is lightning!)
* Snacks, water/ drinks, medication, etc.
* Eye and Ear protection (we have plenty if you don't)
* 150 rounds of quality target ammunition
Note: Due to a succession of catastrophic failures and poor functionality/ proven unreliability, semiautomatic handguns from the following manufacturers are NOT allowed:
