Description
This Non-shooting course teaches students the basic knowledge and skills for safe handling and storage of firearms, ammunition, and the NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling, a primary cause of firearm accidents.
Learn Firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home
A 4-hour non-shooting class is recommended for those unfamiliar with firearms and the terminology.
It is designed to develop the basic knowledge, skills, & attitude necessary for the identification & safe handling and storage of firearms.
Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, and course completion certificate.
Topics Covered
Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling:
The primary causes of firearms accidents, firearm parts, and
how to unload certain action types, ammunition components,
cleaning, care, and safe storage of firearms in the home.
Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety Handbook,
NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and course completion certificate.
