Description

///Please SEE THE NOTE IN THE "TOPICS COVERED" SECTION BELOW.  THIS PROGRAM IS INTENDED TO BE A 4 DAY PROGRAM.  IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND ALL 4 DAYS.///
If you would like to attend both sessions please check the "Add On" box at registration for a discount to add the second session: Bonus Session includes both Fall classes, Sept 14-15 and Oct 26-27 $205.00  PLEASE NOTE:  You could also choose to select the "add on" and you and a training partner benefit from the savings.

We believe that if you carry a handgun to protect yourself or others, you must have a fundamentals set of skills (essential skills) that are firmly grounded, repeatable and available upon demand.  Some people talk about "cold" performance, we choose the term "on demand performance" and we believe you need to understand your current skill level, capabilities and limitations.
Prospective students should have a general knowledge of handguns and be able to safely work from a suitable concealment or duty type holster.  Students can expect to spend the majority of the class time on the range in live fire exercises intended to further develop an understanding of efficient application of the skills required to produce the required hits on a given target at speed.  Explanations, Demonstrations and Practical Application of those skills required are the cornerstone of how we help each student progress at a pace that helps ensure anchoring the understanding of those skills.
This 2 day training event culminates with our "testing" phase and each student will participate for a "grade" in 3 live fire qualifications.  Each qualification is graded on a percentage basis with a detailed score sheet that can serve as a platform to further develop a personal training program. Our "tests" are not pass/fail, rather a detailed analysis of each student's performance.
Each detailed learning block throughout the course also features a "challenge" drill where students compete against each other in live fire drills designed to demonstrate learned skills and behavior.

Topics Covered

We very strongly believe that the fundamentals skills required to run a handgun safely and effectively are not divided between "basic" and "advanced" skills.  Instead we practice what some term "an advanced application of a basic set of skills".
The act of firing a handgun involves mostly simple physics and doesn't take into account the "human element".  We then place our focus on the integration and the "why" we should work to gain the greatest understanding possible of our specific interactions to create a repeatable performance with an understanding of the desired outcome.
In short, we want to demonstrate an "on demand" performance capability that meets or exceeds each individuals expectations.
///NOTE/// THIS PROGRAM IS UNIQUE IN THE FIREARMS TEACHING INDUSTRY AND INCLUDES 2-2 DAY SEGMENTS, SCHEDULED 6 WEEKS APART.  THERE ISN'T A REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND BOTH SEGMENTS AND EACH COURSE WILL FUNCTION AS A STAND-ALONE HANDGUN CLASS, HOWEVER, THE 2ND SESSION IS INTENDED AS THE QUANTIFIED SKILLS SESSION, CONTROLLED ON DEMAND PERFORMANCE OF ESSENTIAL SKILLS DETAILED IN THE 1ST SESSION.///
