Description
The United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) Home Defense Course is a 3.5 hour course (plus range time). Prior firearms experience if preferable, but not required. This course covers:
The basic firearm safety rules. Learn how to safely and properly handle, use and store a handgun. Learn proper basic pistol shooting fundamentals such as aiming, grip, stance, breathing, trigger control, and much more.
Topics Covered
Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals is a comprehensive course for anyone considering owning or carrying a firearm for self-defense. The course is a complete guide to understanding conflict avoidance and situational awareness; home security and home defense; handgun, shotgun and AR-15 basics; shooting fundamentals; the physiology of violent encounters; the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath); and a complete guide on gear, gadgets, and ongoing training.
Expectations and Outcomes
Students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course. The following states recognize our “signed” USCCA certificates which satisfy the training requirement for that State’s Concealed Carry Permit. The list include: Florida, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
