Expectations and Outcomes: By the end of the Refuse To Be A Victim® crime prevention seminar, students can expect to accomplish the following:
Increased awareness and personal safety strategies: Students will learn easy-to-understand methods to increase their awareness and prevent criminal confrontations. They will develop their own personal safety strategies, including creating a safe room and home protection plan, enhancing situational awareness, and utilizing avoidance techniques.
Knowledge of criminal psychology and victim selection: Students will gain an understanding of the psychology of the criminal mind and learn what criminals look for in potential victims. This knowledge will empower them to recognize and respond effectively to potential threats.
Comprehensive safety topics: The seminar covers a wide range of safety topics, including internet and cyber safety, home and phone security, automobile and travel security, personal and technological security, and more. Students will learn about various personal safety devices such as Tasers, stun guns, batons, and pepper spray.
Crime prevention techniques: Students will learn practical techniques to prevent home invasions, burglaries, carjackings, and other criminal incidents. They will be equipped with information on interacting with the police, what to do if they become a victim, and how to stop specific criminal tactics like sliders and the use of bump keys.
Self-defense tools and mental preparedness: Students will receive instruction on self-defense tools and techniques. They will learn about mental preparedness, controlling fear, and developing a proactive mindset to enhance personal safety.
Certification: Attendees of the Refuse To Be A Victim® seminar will receive a Seminar Completion Certificate. Additionally, they will receive the Refuse To Be A Victim® Student's Handbook, the Refuse To Be A Victim® Student's Handbook Firearm Supplement, the Refuse To Be A Victim® Program Brochure, and the Become A Refuse To Be A Victim® Instructor Brochure. These materials provide valuable resources and reinforce the knowledge gained during the seminar.
